Profile summary

I joined Hilti in 2014, moving from Shanghai in China to Hilti’s global training and learning department here in Liechtenstein. It was quite a leap culturally, but I work with people of so many different nationalities that it feels pretty normal to be out of your comfort zone like this.
 
It’s also a great asset – one that works both ways – as I feel valued for being able to give an Asian perspective on the project I’m working on. Of course the same goes for everyone else. We all appreciate the other perspective, while appreciate being appreciated for ours! You really feel the sense of contributing to a project, which is very rewarding.

Profile summary

I joined Hilti right after my studies in industrial and chemical engineering, and was immediately involved in building a model to evaluate R&D projects and foster innovation. I moved then into product management, being responsible for the launch of and training in new diamond coring tools, and having the opportunity to travel to Hilti organizations around the world.
 
Next, I moved to Germany and worked on several global projects with the marketing team in Kaufering. On one project, I helped to steer a new interface for our logistics function; on another, I led two sales teams in taking care of smaller customers and creating leads for our direct sales force. It was an amazing experience, where I developed my leadership skills and nurtured my passion for people. 
 
This took me to my next career move, talent attraction and acquisition for Germany, which is where I discovered my second passion, diversity and inclusion. It’s an area that’s become highly relevant to Hilti in the past few years and I’m excited to see how we managed to attract more and more women to a traditional male sector. Now I head up Hilti’s worldwide strategy for talent attraction. As a great Hilti fan, this is the best job I could ever imagine: What can be greater than finding approaches to attract talent to this great company?
 
It’s a great feeling to have been with Hilti for 22 years and to be as passionate as ever about everything I do here. Hilti gives me challenges that stretch my comfort zone, so I’m still learning and developing every day.

When I graduated from university, I wanted to find a company where I could get a fair evaluation of my performance, an opportunity to learn and the possibility for future development and growth.

I chose Hilti, and six years later I have never regretted my choice. Throughout my Hilti journey, I had a chance to experience various roles in Sales and Finance, which enabled me to gain an understanding of and insights into various key business areas. I have worked in three different countries and two regions, where I always felt supported, welcomed and integrated within the team.

The first personal target I had in my professional life is to become an expert in Finance and Accounting and by utilizing the opportunities Hilti gave me, five years later the goal was achieved. My next target is to become a great leader. Having the potential to grow in an environment where I feel secure and supported is the opportunity I am looking for to extend my soft skills to another level and leverage my people approach and leadership style. To be a great leader is the final milestone in my career. Finance is what I'm good at, and I'm using it as an instrument to reach this milestone.

The thing that makes Hilti special is the fact that it is a family owned company and as such, it has a fantastic corporate culture, which all members across the Hilti world are living. We all act as a team with integrity and courage to face the opportunities of the day and commit to our mission.
